Our Workshop

Have you ever wondered what really goes on in a jewellery workshop?

Let's go behind the scenes in the Diamond Boutique workshop to learn more about the jewellery making process and how we create the perfect piece of fine jewellery.

The process starts with our in-house team of skilled CAD designers. Each piece is expertly modelled using the latest technology capturing the delicate details and flourishes, which is at the heart of every Diamond Boutique piece.

Customers who wish to create custom jewellery are involved in this early stage of the design process, ensuring their vision and specifications are incorporated into the design. Once the model is finished we create renders allowing you to see how the piece of jewellery will look once made.

Wax model

At this stage, the CAD design is used to create a wax model using a specialist wax prototype machine. This wax piece is then used for 'loss wax' casting. The end result is your design created in the metal of your choice.

Rough Casting

Now our master craftsmen will clean the rough casting, removing unnecessary residue and rough edges. Once cleaned the piece is ready to be finished by hand.

Stone Setting

When all metal work is complete, the precious stones are set into the metal using precision hand-held tools. This process takes time, as we have to ensure every stone is set to perfection. The prongs are filed down and the piece is now ready for the polishing stage.

The last step in jewellery making is polishing and finishing. Jewellery polishing is a multi-stage process whereby metal is buffed to achieve the high polish finish. If a certain metal finish is required e.g. brushed matte or engraving requested, it is applied during this stage.

We take the quality check process extremely seriously. Our dedicated Quality Team is responsible for checking the piece from top to bottom. The metal, quality of the diamonds and gemstones, prongs and overall finish is checked thoroughly to ensure it meets our strict quality standards.
